The Kleen-Team
specializes in the fast and
effective removal of
contaminants from soil and
groundwater, using state-of-the
art thermal technology to heat
and treat sites in periods of 3
to 4 months, depending on size
and contaminants. From start to
finish, a project can be
completed in 9 to 12 months (or
less).
WHAT EXACTLY IS SOIL
REMEDIATION?
Soil remediation is the
process of removing, reducing or
neutralizing industrial soil,
sediment and water contaminants
that threaten human health
and/or ecosystem productivity
and integrity.
- Developing techniques to
remove or reduce levels of
hydrocarbons and heavy metals
from contaminated soil by means
of specially selected plants,
microorganisms, surfactants and
solvents.
- Modeling how hydrocarbons
and other contaminants move in
soil so contaminants can be
located even long after a spill.
- Transferring technology to
engineering companies and public
agencies for locating and
removing contaminants to clean
up spills at industrial sites.
- Consulting with regulatory
agencies to develop improved
criteria for acceptable levels
and procedures for removal of
soil contaminants and
environmental impact assessment.
WHAT SOIL CONTAMINANTS DOES
KLEEN-TEAM TREAT?
Basically, all VOCs (for
example, chlorinated and
non-chlorinated solvents) at any
depth, and SVOCs (for example,
PCBs, coal tar, creosote,
pesticides) located above the
water table. With SVOCs below
the water table, additional
water control measures are
needed, such as hydraulic
isolation or longer operational
periods.
